I hired Andrea originally to help with choice of paint color for my home , as well as to help our home look more spacious . Andrea was SO much more . Our space is definitively tricky to work with , since it is an older home with awkward spaces and tight rooms , but within Andrea's first hour here , she worked her miracles . Her first step was to rearrange our existing furniture in an unbelievably spacious way , thinking ' out of the box ' . She then suggested different options in paint color , going on to gently suggest different lighting options that would make a huge difference in opening up our space and solve awkward looking spots .. Andrea understood and accommodated our different needs and showed us how to work within our budget , actually teaching me about where it was necessary to spend and where we would be able to save . The final results were a complete ( and fabulous ) makeover , versus what we had originally set out to do ... I originally discovered Andrea on an internet site, listing Toronto’s top-10 designers. After having just purchased a 2+1 bedroom condo, I needed a designer to assist me with managing a small space. I had originally planned to hire a condo-design company but after speaking with her on the phone, we had such a wonderful chemistry that I instantly knew I couldn’t work with anyone else and hired her on the spot. Moving from 2700 square feet to 1000 was a very difficult process and when I first moved in, I was nearly in tears. The kitchen was dark and dreary, and there were awful accent walls which had been painted charcoal making my new home feel even smaller than it already was. Moreover, none of the furniture I had owned previously would fit into such a small space. Andrea coordinated with me to get a feel for my personal taste and added all of her own touches. Together we brightened the entire place up, re-furnished it and had minor renovations done to make the place feel much larger. I decided to pay Andrea for most of her services up front (although she did not require this), and it did not prevent her from spending the necessary time with me on the smaller items despite already having purchased the major furniture pieces and having received her fee. I can’t imagine there being any designer in Toronto that is of a higher caliber or better value than Andrea. My 1000 square feet condo which had once felt so depressing is now the home I always dreamed of having. When guests come over, they constantly tell me that my place looks like it is straight out of a magazine and comment on what an amazing designer I had. I can’t help but agree. Being familiar with Andrea's designing style we had flown her to Winnipeg from Toronto. Downsizing to a 1800 sqare feet 1 bedroom open space condominium we knew would be a challenge for the best. Our garden apartment home in Mexico is our peaceful refuge. We have the furniture and art that we like; however Andrea rearranged the same elements that we have had for years and added one mirror and lifted the vibe from merely good to fabulous. What a talent! What an eye! She used the existing space and existing materials. For very little money Andrea created an esthetically pleasing and much more comfortable environment.
